Steam and the future of Arena!


Hey everyone! 

It's been ages since I posted anything related to Arena. When I uploaded the last build (last year), I was happy with the state of things and I suppose I grew a bit complacent and never took the final steps to market & publish the "final game" because  I was very tired.

But now I'm quarantined, receiving unemployment, and diving back into the deep of the project. This is essentially a remastering of Arena. I've optimized and beautified. I've redone the lighting, updated enemies, doubled the FPS, added a roll / dodge mechanic, and totally rewrote my character controller in the process.  The game plays a lot faster now and you really need to keep moving. (Think DOOM or Devil Daggers). 

My plan is to release version 0.9  on here (itch.io) for testing. It will be the last beta version, and from then on Arena will be updated on Steam. I recently paid the submission fee, and I've been working on a trailer for the store page before I make it public. I'm really excited to incorporate the achievement system and I plan on continuing to add content (maps? enemies? game-modes? multiplayer?) as long as people are playing :)

Anyway, I'll upload beta version 0.9 soon and I'll let ya'll know when the Steam store page is up :)
